YABANCI DİL ÖĞRETİMİ BAĞLAMINDA ÖĞRENEN ÖZERKLİĞİNİN SANAL ÖĞRENME ORTAMLARI YOLUYLA DESTEKLENMESİ

Abstract

Eğitim teknolojilerindeki son gelişmeler, yabancı dil öğrenimi ve öğretimi alanında öğrenme özerkliği gibi çağdaş yaklaşımların uygulanmasını gerekli kılmaktadır. Dahası açık ve uzaktan öğretim teknolojilerinin gelişmesiyle de öğrenen özerkliği düşüncesini gerekli kılmaktadır. İnternet ve sanal öğrenme ortamları, öğretmenler, eğitim tasarımcıları ve öğrenciler için yabancı dil öğrenme ve öğretme seçeneklerini çeşitlendirip genişleterek öğrenme olanaklarını değiştirmektedir. Ayrıca, İnternet ve sanal öğrenme ortamları gibi öğrenme ağlarıyla da desteklenen bilgi patlaması öğrencilerin öğrenmesi gereken bilgileri çoğaltmakta ve çeşitlendirmektedir. Bunlar da öğrencilerin özerk bireyler olarak öğrenilecek bilgiler konusunda seçimler yapmasını ve etkin bir biçimde öğrenme konusunda sorumluluk almasını gerektirmektedir. Second Life gibi sanal öğrenme ortamları yabancı dil öğrenme bağlamında birçok yeni olanak sunabilir. Bu çalışma kapsamında “Second Life” adlı sanal dünya platformunun yabancı dil öğrenme sürecinde öğrenen özerkliğini desteklemek için hangi olanakları sunduğu tartışılacaktır.
