Recently, Geographic Information System (GIS) Programs are widely used in Engineering Geology applications. Such a study was performed in the Eskişehir urban area of about 30 km2, to predict the properties of foundation soil on the geo-engineering maps. The soil profile generally, exhibits a constant spreading and it starts with fine grained soils near the surface where the grain size gradually increases downward. The plasticity of fine grained soils decreases to Eskişehir Centrum and silt content increases and they gradually change to underlying coarse grained soils. In addition the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) counts decrease toward the Centrum of Eskişehir city. In this respect, useful preliminary maps and cross-sections were formed for this area to be used in further studies.
