Bilgi yönetimi, organizasyonlara ait verileri kayıt altına alarak bu bilgilere istenilen her aşamada ulaşılmasını sağlayan, organizasyonun işlemlerinin otomasyon sistemlerini kullanarak yapmasına olanak sağlayan teknolojik yapılardır.

Information management is a technological structure that records the data belonging to organizations and allows this information to be reached at any stage and allows the organization's operations to be done using automation systems. When we look at the studies in the field of information management, it is seen that developed countries place much more importance on this issue. From the point of view of the enterprises, information has become one of the company's most basic resources. Information management has become the most important element in the management processes of enterprises. Information management helps businesses maintain their competitive position by providing operability to the data they acquire and adding added-value that is important for the business during the production and marketing phase.
The basic element of Information Management Systems is the technological infrastructures. When we look at the technological infrastructures used in Information Management in enterprises, database software, and intranet infrastructure of the company are the most important elements. The knowledge generated within the enterprise through the information management systems is shared among the employees of the enterprise and plays an important role in the transfer of information and experience. Thus, it enables new information to be generated from existing information and to increase the accumulation of information of the enterprise.
