Assistant Prof. Dr. Hijaz Ahmad completed his MS in computational mathematics from the Department of Mathematics, COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus. In 2022, he completed his PhD in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the Department of Basic Sciences and Islamiat, University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, Pakistan and then he started his Post-doc from Lebanese American University, Beirut, Lebanon. His research work is focused on the development and advancement of numerical techniques for finding the numerical solution of mathematical models in the form of partial differential equations and fractional partial differential equations arising in finance, computational biology, and different disciplines of engineering. He has introduced modified variational iteration algorithm-I and modified variational iteration algorithm-II for the numerical solution of nonlinear partial differential equations and fractional iteration algorithm-I for finding the numerical solution of nonlinear non-integer order partial differential equations. The scope of his research is quite broad, covering numerical analysis, fractional calculus, mathematical biology and mathematical physics. Dr Ahmad is included in the World's Top 2% Scientists 2022 and 2023 (by Stanford University and Elsevier).

Structural and Seismic Specialty Engineer with 20 years of broad experience in performing structural analysis and design for various types of structures including nuclear power facilities, steel and prefabricated concrete industrial facilities, towers, steel platforms. Experienced seismic soil-structure interaction (SSI) analysis, design of nuclear power plant Seismic Category - I structures, and evaluation and retrofit design of nuclear facilities.

Research Engineer with over 8 years of interdisciplinary research experience in the fields of experimental mechanics, structural diagnostics, earthquake, and structural engineering. Applied system identification, estimation, detection, signal processing and statistical techniques to solve challenging problems in structural health monitoring and seismic engineering. Expert in model-based testing, Kalman filtering theory, and applications for state and parameter estimation problems.

Worked closely with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) standards for nuclear facilities, including NUREG 0800, NRC Regulatory Guides, ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ACI 349, ACI 318.
